In April 1996, Der Spiegel describes a distressed Europe as a self-evidently
Mad Cow ridden by a woman who, significantly enough, now carries the one flag of the European Union.

                                              In the 9 December 1991 Time magazine (page 13) a women riding the bull
                                        while she is holding aloft the European flag is used to picture the European movement.
